ASK MY HUSBAND!
Please add here a big, big guffaw!
I’m not kidding. We honest people (that would be children of God, beloved) all know marriage isn’t always good because we aren’t always good:
Mark 10:17-18
As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. “Good teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone.
Only Jesus Christ has always been good!
1 Peter 2:9-10
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
But: because of the covenant we have entered into with the true and living God, we are what He says we are!
Selah.
This is exactly why we need to crucify our flesh (walk and be led by the Holy Spirt, He is God; and, repent when we have sinned.)
1 John 7:5-10
This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.
SO NOW THAT I HAVE TOLD YOU we need to walk with God and repent when necessary: you now have the basis for a great marriage. After all, my friends, marriage is ordained by God. And God’s Church and Synagogue are used by Him to bring man and woman into His covenant. There is no other way…
Selah.
Duane and I met on a blind date (Some of you may remember this. I’m always desiring new readers.) We were both out of God’s will and truly headed for Hell! No lie!
My firstborn child, a son, made me really start paying attention to God; and yet, we didn’t start attending church until he was two and our next child, a daughter, was given to us! Talk about stupid! Talk about rebellious! We didn’t really even pray. We didn’t tithe. We didn’t bind or loose. We didn’t share. I tell people when they want to know my story and I always tell them I thank God I didn’t die in my twenties because I would have gone straight to Hell!
Amen and amen!
YET GOD IS LONGSUFFERING: and He certainly suffered long with me! I have thanked him very, very much over the years He waited for me! Can’t say that enough!!
SO THIS VERY DAY, September 28th, Duane and I have been married forty-five years! Blind date, living in sin, living for fun – our fun – and yet now we are new creations in Christ, His ambassadors, reconciled to God, His righteousness:
2 Corinthians 5:14-21
For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
Selah!
And amen and amen!!
Yes, our marriage is strong! All glory and thanks to God Almighty. I’m sure you know how horrible the marriage record is these days; including God’s people and the fallen world.
Selah.
THEREFORE IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SUCCESSFUL COUNCEL from a mature Christian person like me, take these points to heart, soul, and spirit.
AS WE CELEBRATE our marriage, we do so in giving God the glory, thanking Him for it, and striving to be an example of: “Yes! You can!”
Growing up in a home without the love for God, an invalid father, heavy financial hardships, and tremendous (sometimes dangerous) discord is always difficult. Add on to that extreme shyness, a feeling of inferiority, and some may think this girl was rejected. But God’s hand was on her and His heart was for her. Today, Ann Marie Turner has performed many great services in Jesus’ name for the love of God and man; and for herself! She has ministered in the male correctional for over ten years. Along with this website, Ann is the author of Joy Stories, Volume One and The Free Incarcerated Man. Writing about the joy of the Lord and the victory that is available for a willing soul is one of Ann’s now greatest joys! Ann’s prayer for you is to overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony. Celebrate the God of the Bible and your personal victories in Christ unceasingly! Revelation 12:11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
