ABOUT TINA…
MY TERRIER TACO!
THIS STORY not only shares the joys of having a puppy, any puppy; it also shows her growing in love more and more with her new family… This story relays the joys of communication between a puppy and her puppy (human) parents. God loves His puppies! And He wants us to as well!
WHO OF YOU love puppies?
That should be all of us! God created fur babies for His good pleasure. Everything He has created was to be for His glory, pleasure, and enjoyment… And we were all to be blessed by His wonders!
Selah!
I’m not going to preach about the wickedness we see daily right now; rather only on God and His puppies.
I personally have had puppies most all of my life as a child, teenager, and the true majority of my adult years. When living in an apartment I had kitties, no puppies. When my husband and I moved out to Los Angeles, no dogs. (Although our wonderful landlord, Mr. Gray, wanted us to take in a stray.) Oh my! She was beautiful! But with plans to move back to Minnesota we knew it would extremely difficult to find a place that would let us bring her in. Her name was Jojo. She was a beautiful mid-to-big-size dog with plenty of glorious white fur. And she was so very happy! We all loved her so much and hated not to bring her with us! But we knew Mr. Gray would either keep her or definitely find Jojo a loving, loving home…
The puppy we have now is Tina! She is a Terrier mix. Her fur is like hair, long, beautiful, and silky. She’s mainly white and black and has brown and gray fur gently and marvelously mixed in.
Tina came to her new home on September 25, 2018. My puppy is the age of a dog; but I love the word puppy because it brings to mind (for most people) that excited, cuddly, sweet, and totally precious fur baby…
NOTE: I believe that people who don’t love fur babies need a swift and sharp change of heart! Don’t you?
Tina has grown over the years since we’ve had her now nearly five. We have a cat condo for Pewter (our rescued, relieved, and restored Russian Blue kitty) and Tina immediately started loving its third level. When we first got Tina she was able to lay with extra room left over on that flat surface. No more! Now she jumps onto it from the chair very near slowly and oh, so ever cautiously. Tina knows she now takes up most of that space and has to be extra careful getting on… I am happy to say for her she still can!
One of her favorite things is her brown doggie bed (here before she was.) But her doggie blanket, just one of many, came with her. The bed is so loved and used, Tina can stick her head through when she’s goofing around. Some day that bed will be replaced grudgingly so she can actually still have one in the living room. But her first doggie blanket that came with her will have to be smaller than a napkin before I throw that out!
Selah.
Tina is a blessed dog living in a house with her Christian puppy mamma and puppy daddy and her sister kitty. She has a beautiful and big, big doggie bed here in my office. She has another, not quite so big one, in the kitchen. Don’t you know she has to be comfortable when we’re gone or Duane is cooking and she wants to be by him (or maybe by the food!) She has a tiny one in the dining room that’s small, but still comfortable. Lastly, she has a duplicate kitchen doggie bed in the rec room.
When I can’t hold her, she has to be comfortable! Amen! Sometimes she will choose the chairs, the couch, the floor…
Getting back to Tina’s favorite doggie bed in the living room: when we first got her home and I’d take her to bed if she was laying in her bed sometimes… I’d just fold it in half with her in it. Immediately I thought of a taco and caller her Tina Taco! Fun! As Tina grew and got bigger, I could still do this for a while, but when she was too big to be a ‘taco’ Tina now became my tostada!
Tina tostado, no longer a little ‘taco’ – no longer a younger puppy dog; she’s now fully grown. She is the most work of any dog we have ever had. And I tell her this! That’s precious because I also tell her: “You’re worth every minute of work! We love you so much!” Last night I took her out twice in less than half an hour… She needed to go out – but not to potty again. She needed to look for bunnies! We tell her daily many times we love her (and Pewter) and sometimes I wonder, how many times daily do other people tell that to their fur babies… or each other.
Terriers are hunters and Tina’s been programmed to seek them out. Thank God she doesn’t go after squirrels like that! We have much more of them! And much more often!
Please don’t think we’d ever let Tina kill a bunny. She will do Bunny Patrol daily; many, many times daily! Tina will go to the window, scope out the land, and plan her ‘attack’ before she’s ready and willing to be taken outside. We now also have a code word for bunny (like ‘C’ for Como Park.) And… the code word is … ‘cinnamon bun!’
My bunnies (because I am a joint-heir with Jesus) know we won’t let her near them and they trust me. Sometimes I’ll have to tell them to leave; and if they are stubborn and won’t go easily, Tina and I will walk towards them. Gets them moving every time!! Ha! I promise you, I believe those bunnies will look in the window to tease her! You never know.
I loved Tina and wanted her from the moment I saw her picture on the web. Duane and I both know we saw her entire personality in that picture! Tina is very, very fun! She is extremely pretty. Her activity level passes the charts from any other dog we have ever had!
Selah.
THE POINT OF THIS STORY:
Tina was immediately wanted and loved by Duane and me (and Pewter!) We have learned ways to truly understand her wants and fears (being left alone.) We are constantly enjoying her and telling each other: “Look at Tina!” We stop everything to see how darling our little girl is!
LIKE PUPPIES
God wants us to marvel at all of His beautiful works!
(Whatever is sour and stale is the wicked choice of the wicked one choosing wickedness! We never admire them!)
Selah.
To be enamored (a very good description here) with God’s creation is to give glory and wonder more and more for Him; and to be thankful for all He has done. Being thankful for the creations that did not rebel also is to God’s glory!
Selah.
Yes, Tina, the former Tina Taco and currently Tina Tostada, is cared for by Duane and me just as God would have us do! And when and if we lose our patience, she reminds us of just how precious she is!
All glory to God!
PLEASE NOTE: That serpent, that old devil, the father of lies, Satan (all the same entity I now speak of) said this about Tina as she became our newest fur baby:
“She’s ugly! She looks like a long, skinny rat!”
That’s just one more lie from the pits of Hell… You see, before Tina we had Riley and Rocky, a black female and a fawn male pug. These two were like little fire plugs: short, stout, giving us joy all about!! It was actually difficult to learn how to pick up a longer, much leaner, little lady dog. I just had to go slower and get a handle on how to handle Tina’s perfect little frame.
Guess what I told the devil back?
“She is not! She’s beautiful!”
That, my friends, is how to deal with the devil: never let him have the last word! (Another excellent teaching!) And, if he is using people to attack you: do the same!
Yes: Satan is so warped that he even wants to hurt puppies! Murdering unborn people may be his biggest sin and evil attack (regarding all of creation.) But he wants everyone hurting, sorrowful and damned! Don’t worry! He will be!
Revelation 20:10
And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Enjoy God’s creations today! Puppies and kitties are just two! All with unique physical attributes, all with different voices, all with personalities – and all needing to be loved and wanting to give love!
To Hell with the devil!
SCRIPTURAL TRUTHS FOR THIS JOY STORY:
Genesis 1:31
God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.
Romans 8:14-17
For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
GREAT EXPECTATION!!!
If you believe animals don’t go to Heaven, you’re wrong!
Genesis 1:30
And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground-everything that has the breath of life in it – I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.”
Psalm 36:6
Your righteousness is like the highest mountains, your justice like the great deep. You, Lord, preserve both people and animals.
Isaiah 11:6-9
The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them. The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. The infant will play near the cobra’s den, and the young child will put its hand into the viper’s nest. They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.
SOMETHING EXTREMLY INTERESTING…
If you don’t know: animals that kill people will be held accountable by God!
Genesis 9:4-6
“But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it. And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each human being, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of another human being. “Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made mankind.
… I will demand an accounting from every animal.
Growing up in a home without the love for God, an invalid father, heavy financial hardships, and tremendous (sometimes dangerous) discord is always difficult. Add on to that extreme shyness, a feeling of inferiority, and some may think this girl was rejected. But God’s hand was on her and His heart was for her. Today, Ann Marie Turner has performed many great services in Jesus’ name for the love of God and man; and for herself! She has ministered in the male correctional for over ten years. Along with this website, Ann is the author of Joy Stories, Volume One and The Free Incarcerated Man. Writing about the joy of the Lord and the victory that is available for a willing soul is one of Ann’s now greatest joys! Ann’s prayer for you is to overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony. Celebrate the God of the Bible and your personal victories in Christ unceasingly! Revelation 12:11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
