PEWTER’S PAUSE is a reflective moment on the beauty of just one of God’s wonderous creations: cats! The title is in honor of my own Russian Blue who has been rescued, revived and cherished as God wants all cats to be!
Selah.
CURRENTLY DUANE AND I are revisiting the 1986 – 1993 television show, Perfect Strangers.
And boy! Am I glad we are! It’s funny, cheerful, lovely… I didn’t remember how great it was back in the day. Larry Appleton (played by the wonderful Mark Linn-Baker) and Balki Bartokomous (played by the equally wonderful Bronson Pinchot) brought talent and love to millions of people I have no doubt… They have to me!
NOTE: I imagine they are both doing sweet and special projects to this day. They are very close to my own age and we know we have a long life yet to live.
“The Dance of Joy” is one of the most memorable things these two men (plus others involved, of course) gave us!
And this is what Pewter’s Pause is about today…
Since being freed from a rescue shelter after being a neglected and undoubtedly a feral cat, with five months of love and protection from us upon the arrival of her last earthly home, Pewter has turned out to be a demander of love and cuddles. She has turned around one hundred percent from the fears and probable horrors from her life before us.
And now do you know what she does? Pewter does “The Dance of Joy”! and she never even saw Perfect Strangers! It was before her time. (I have seen her watching TV.)
She will go to the upper room that is basically hers and run, baby run, doing “The Dance of Joy!”
She has so much to be thankful for (like you, like me!) And, she is!
Often one of us will tell the other, “She’s doing “The Dance of Joy”! I’m always amazed that a small Russian Blue cat can make the noise of a much larger animal!! It’s great!
So, Mark and Bronson, if you ever happen to read this, I want to thank you and send my love for “The Dance of You” and all the sweet lessons and memories your show brought us! When I see you in Heaven (and I’m believing you are wise, loving, and willing to love and belong to the only true God) I want to do “the Dance of Joy” with you!
And you can meet Pewter!
Growing up in a home without the love for God, an invalid father, heavy financial hardships, and tremendous (sometimes dangerous) discord is always difficult. Add on to that extreme shyness, a feeling of inferiority, and some may think this girl was rejected. But God’s hand was on her and His heart was for her. Today, Ann Marie Turner has performed many great services in Jesus’ name for the love of God and man; and for herself! She has ministered in the male correctional for over ten years. Along with this website, Ann is the author of Joy Stories, Volume One and The Free Incarcerated Man. Writing about the joy of the Lord and the victory that is available for a willing soul is one of Ann’s now greatest joys! Ann’s prayer for you is to overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony. Celebrate the God of the Bible and your personal victories in Christ unceasingly! Revelation 12:11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
