TINA’S TALES:
TINA’S TALES are short stories specifically about our Terrier rescue mix, Tina Ann Turner. In addition, I will be posting stories about other dogs.
Friends, people with a great ability to love always are enamored by beauty! And dogs are beautiful! They always have a purpose which God has given them: some hunt, some protect, some only and always provide unfaltering companionship! God created them for His pleasure and shares them with us!
And some are too dangerous to live…
Selah.
IT IS INTERESTING TO NOTE:
animals who kill people are judged…
Don’t keep a dangerous dog!
Genesis 9:4-6
“But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it. And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each human being, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of another human being. “Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made mankind.
AND NOW, ONTO THE TALE OF JOY!
MY GRANDDAUGHTER
wanted me to be sure to share this with you…
This is another true story: believe it or not.
If you don’t, you’d be wrong!
JOY is the second dog my son, his wife, and their daughters have. She is a black beauty! The first time I saw her she was a puppy. The first time I heard her bark (that same day) I was shocked by her strong, loud bark! I told my son, “She’s going to be a big dog!” He didn’t like that and said, “Don’t say that!” Well, to me she is a big dog! Joy has grown and is now a young adult, still very much a beauty!
My girls will tell me all kinds of stories about Jessie (her sister, by adoption) and Joy! These stories are always great to listen to; and it’s even greater to know Jessie and Joy are loved, well taken care of, and pampered…
BUT THIS JOY STORY
has to do more with me and Joy. On a particular day my family, and this time it included the dogs, were over. Joseph was going to cut their nails in our rec room. I came down for just a moment for laundry and then was coming down later again for a longer visit with the dogs. I insist that we keep Tina away from the other two girls. Two against one is never good, plus Tina is so much smaller. It’s her house so she would believe (and rightfully so) it’s her domain and she will dominate… But she can’t beat out two larger dogs and there is no way I would put any dog in a dangerous position.
So as Jessie and Joy were having fun in the rec room with Joseph, Denise, Shana and Brianna, after my short-planned laundry trip, with the intent to come back very soon, I started going up the steps…
HANG ON!
Here comes the ‘unbelievable’ – ‘unbelievable’ only to the stupid!
Joy didn’t want any part of me leaving! She literally called out to me:
“I love you!”
Now, I never really care what people think about me – unless I’m out of line with God’s Word – as long as I am not sinning, I don’t care if I’m liked, loved, or approved of.
Selah.
NOTE: I only do care about their relationship with God and men: so, that would mean – we should all love each other, care about each other, and worship the same and only God! That includes loving me.
Selah!
As Joy called out to me, “I love you!” as I was leaving temporarily, I immediately knew she wanted me to stay. I instantly came back down the steps and told her I’d be coming back down really soon and I would spend time with her and Jessie.
I did just that. Joy went home happy that day!
MORE PROOF:
I hope you believe this because it is just so amazing how God can show His magnificence through His creation: dogs are just one way!
Selah.
This special day (every one is!) Joseph, Denise, Shana, Brianna, me all heard Joy’s words, her exact words – in English: “I love you!” We keep them in our memory and cherish it!
Joy and I don’t see each other very often. But I tell her things. I pray every day for her and Jessie. I pray every day for my covenant family and I tell Satan on a regular basis he can’t have them or me!
Selah.
When I remind Satan he is bound by my covenant with God I say everyone’s complete name; because, unlike God he does not know everything, cannot see everything, cannot be everywhere at once. And neither can his henchmen!
Selah.
Joy told me she loved me! I already knew this… If she dies before the rapture, her body will be like Otis (my first Pug). It will be an empty shell…
I will see Joy in Heaven!
You better believe that!
SCRIPTURAL TRUTHS FOR THIS JOY STORY:
Psalm 36:6
Your righteousness is like the highest mountains, your justice like the great deep. You, Lord, preserve both people and animals.
Isaiah 11:6-9
The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together;
and a little child will lead them.
The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. The infant will play near the cobra’s den, and the young child will put its hand into the viper’s nest. They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.
Jeremiah 8:7
Even the stork in the sky knows her appointed seasons, and the dove, the swift and the thrush observe the time of their migration. But my people do not know the requirements of the Lord.
Luke 12:4-7
“I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him. Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
Revelation 19:11-18
I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:
king of kings and lord of lords.
And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, “Come, gather together for the great supper of God, so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and the mighty, of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, great and small.”
Growing up in a home without the love for God, an invalid father, heavy financial hardships, and tremendous (sometimes dangerous) discord is always difficult. Add on to that extreme shyness, a feeling of inferiority, and some may think this girl was rejected. But God’s hand was on her and His heart was for her. Today, Ann Marie Turner has performed many great services in Jesus’ name for the love of God and man; and for herself! She has ministered in the male correctional for over ten years. Along with this website, Ann is the author of Joy Stories, Volume One and The Free Incarcerated Man. Writing about the joy of the Lord and the victory that is available for a willing soul is one of Ann’s now greatest joys! Ann’s prayer for you is to overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony. Celebrate the God of the Bible and your personal victories in Christ unceasingly! Revelation 12:11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
