SNOW!
MORE SPECIFICALLY A SNOW DAY!!
BEST BEHAVIOR ON A SNOW DAY?!
PARTY LIKE A CHILD!
I have to say, the word “party” has been pirated by sinners! Yes, my friends, God created parties. Just scope out the number of times God uses these precious and beautiful words:
OKAY: I will stop there. Get my point?!
In the year of 2018, on this day, January 23rd it is a Tuesday and a lot of people ‘go’ to work today — or stay home. My friends, we Minnesotans are having a SNOW DAY!
School classes have been cancelled all over the place! Do you know what those children and teenagers are dong?!
Children and teenagers know how to party for SNOW DAYS!
Some of us wise guys will choose the right attitude. Grown-ups don’t have to sour. Attitude is a choice! Don’t believe me? Here, let me give you some biblical proof!
Acts 16:16-25
Once when we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a female slave who had a spirit by which she predicted the future. She earned a great deal of money for her owners by fortune-telling. She followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who are telling you the way to be saved.” She kept this up for many days. Finally Paul became so annoyed that he turned around and said to the spirit, “In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!” At that moment the spirit left her.
When her owners realized that their hope of making money was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace to face the authorities. They brought them before the magistrates and said, “These men are Jews, and are throwing our city into an uproar by advocating customs unlawful for us Romans to accept or practice.”
The crowd joined in the attack against Paul and Silas, and the magistrates ordered them to be stripped and beaten with rods. After they had been severely flogged, they were thrown into prison, and the jailer was commanded to guard them carefully. When he received these orders, he put them in the inner cell and fastened their feet in the stocks.
About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.
WHAT? Paul and Silas CHOSE to pray and sing to God with other prisoners listening to them INSTEAD OF choosing to complain? Yes! They are God’s wise…
And there are such others of these today. My son, for one, chose the good fight last night, ending up with a three-hour drive rather than, I believe a half hour. He called me and we had a long conversation. I’ve always loved Joseph’s laugh and he really let it go when he saw something you don’t see everyday: a man by his car on the freeway clearing snow off! Why? He could not move! Everyone was stopped!
Make lemonade or look like a dried-up, wrinkled and stinky fruit!
We are supposed to choose the fruit of the Spirit!
Galatians 5:19-25
The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.
Yes. We had a fun and wonderful conversation! Joe told me he decided to have the right attitude. He prayed in the Spirit and thanked God! And another great idea was for him to spend some extra time with me, his dear and precious loving mom! Amen and amen!
Then: there’s my husband who goes to great lengths to get to work in a timely manner because he helps save lives. He is an emergency room nurse: I would love to follow him around and watch him go. I cannot because of privacy laws. But I thank God for Duane’s calling and his sacrifices to bring aid to the sick and dying! He took his time, determined he would arrive safe and basically on time! We Turners know well Psalm 91 protection: again, I recommend y’all to memorize it!
On my door is a door knocker and on that knocker is this Scripture:
But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.
Based on Joshua 24:15
Wise attitude, wouldn’t you say?
Growing up in a home without the love for God, an invalid father, heavy financial hardships, and tremendous (sometimes dangerous) discord is always difficult. Add on to that extreme shyness, a feeling of inferiority, and some may think this girl was rejected. But God’s hand was on her and His heart was for her. Today, Ann Marie Turner has performed many great services in Jesus’ name for the love of God and man; and for herself! She has ministered in the male correctional for over ten years. Along with this website, Ann is the author of Joy Stories, Volume One and The Free Incarcerated Man. Writing about the joy of the Lord and the victory that is available for a willing soul is one of Ann’s now greatest joys! Ann’s prayer for you is to overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony. Celebrate the God of the Bible and your personal victories in Christ unceasingly! Revelation 12:11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
