ONCE UPON A TIME (and this is a very true story) I was out and about in public.
God once again showed me the extreme hatred some people have for His truths…
Beloved: have you lived long enough to learn that some people enjoy the curse? It is true. It is sad: and it is evil. It is evil not to believe God. It is evil to try to worship a false God. And it is evil to put one’s opinion about what is good / what is evil to such an arrogant height that it does not matter to such a person this truth: God is Author and Creator and we are to believe Him.
In my shocking encounter (not really all that shocking to me, as I have had much experience with the good, the bad and the ugly) I approached a smiling woman who was shopping while at the same time attending to a young man in a wheelchair.
I offered her help to understand how to set this young man free from the bondage of a wheelchair. Why, he couldn’t even hold his head up. His arms hung limp. Everything he needed had to be done for him…
God did not intend this. satan did.
At first this woman was seemingly pleasant and agreeable to speak of his condition. She said people have laid hands on him. She even told me he was doing good! What a lie from the pit of Hell! I told her he was not doing good. Beloved, I’m not sensitive enough to lie. I don’t care if I confront. Jesus did. Paul did. Peter did. And that list goes on.
I cared about his life in the here and now.
What really might shock some of you was when I started speaking of the stripes Jesus Christ bore for our infirmities she truly, truly went ballistic! She was fiercely agitated, now raising her voice frantically! Can you believe this?!
Yes! The demonic realm shriek at truth. They snarl, the hiss, they attack.
Whatever this woman was, she was not one who cherished the stripes our precious Lord and Savior received and endured for that young man in the wheelchair.
What could I do? Nothing, almost. I was in no way embarrassed or ashamed to proclaim the good news of physical and mental healing. She wasn’t listening. She did not want to. I told her she should listen to me because I knew the Scriptures to help her! She refused.
I walked away…
Remember these Scriptures when dealing with people like her:
Mark 6:5
He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them.
Mark 6:6
He was amazed at their lack of faith.
Growing up in a home without the love for God, an invalid father, heavy financial hardships, and tremendous (sometimes dangerous) discord is always difficult. Add on to that extreme shyness, a feeling of inferiority, and some may think this girl was rejected. But God’s hand was on her and His heart was for her. Today, Ann Marie Turner has performed many great services in Jesus’ name for the love of God and man; and for herself! She has ministered in the male correctional for over ten years. Along with this website, Ann is the author of Joy Stories, Volume One and The Free Incarcerated Man. Writing about the joy of the Lord and the victory that is available for a willing soul is one of Ann’s now greatest joys! Ann’s prayer for you is to overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony. Celebrate the God of the Bible and your personal victories in Christ unceasingly! Revelation 12:11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
