WIVES: Remember the beautiful and caring things your husband has done for you! Stir up those memories!

 

AT ONE TIME IN LIFE, AND FAR TOO LONG AT THAT, I had no respect, no awe, took no time to adore God.

I now always tell people how thankful I am I didn’t die in my sins; I would have gone straight to Hell! Sadly, most people are shocked when I make this statement, making it obvious to me that most people hardly take Hell seriously. (I pray they learn and accept this biblical truth before their time is up!)

And as a young woman, paying no attention to God of course I had no clue as to what Jesus did for me not only to go to Heaven, but in addition, for me to be able to proclaim that God-given right of prosperity. This story regards my health as a sinner…

When Duane and I were newlyweds and living in Los Angeles there came a time where I became very sick, dangerously sick…  Those attacks don’t happen to me anymore because now I know my rights which are straight from the Bible! Praise God! Jesus took all my curses from me because He is my chosen Lord and Savior! I have a right to be healthy:

 

Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

 

Isaiah 53:4-5
Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered
him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.

 

Psalm 103:1-5
Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

In this, my ADVICE FOR THE WIFE story, I speak of the loving kindness and tenderness Duane showed to me when I was so terribly ill. My fever was high and perhaps I shouldn’t have been left alone. I can still remember getting out of bed and literally crawling for what I needed (bathroom stop, I believe.) Besides needing to crawl, I felt very dizzy!

It was frightening!

Neither one of us prayed back at this time. Stupid! But he did tend to me lovingly by being extremely patient with me in teaching me how to safely swallow pills (capsules.) You see, I had this tremendous fear of choking, My father, if you remember, had Multiple Sclerosis. He would have many fits of choking. It was horrendous for all of the family and the noises he would make sounded every time as if he wouldn’t pull out of it and live! When I was a small child I would run and hide in another room because I was so terrified. Yes, Satan put a fear of choking on me big time… And I fell for it! Not anymore!!

But at this time because I was very sick and frightened Duane tended me. Unfortunately, he did go to work and none of his family came over to help me (I don’t think we ever asked them. Should have.) I’ll never forget how tender he was with me in swallowing those capsule. I cried! I actually cried to have to do it! How fear can get on a person…

He talked me through it and it came to the point that it was no longer stressful, no longer frightening. Thank God! I should have listened to God much, much sooner.

Beloved, in hard things good things can come. I remember this trial, I remember this agony, but most of all I remember being so thankful to be healthy again and the great love my husband had for me! Still does!

And: now that I am a child of God (for only Jewish people who believe in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and Christians are) I simply take my authority over ever curse and praise God Almighty with eternal joy!

All glory to God! Always!

And glory to Him that I am now His daughter. I praise Him always now and take the authority He has given me!

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her  to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word,  and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
