BECAUSE OF DUANE’S HOURS many times we celebrate holidays and special occasions at a later date. Thankfully, I’ve never had a problem with that. I am forever grateful to my God and choose His joy!
Amen and amen and
Selah!
I am the Christian woman-type who knows the preciousness of God, His people, and life, God-kind of life. Ergo, when our celebration date does not align with the one on the calendar it is well with my soul!
Praise God!
Romans 14:5
One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind.
Indeed, I love to celebrate the birth of Christ on Christmas; Easter is my favorite of all holidays; (it is finished); and Thanksgiving has always been dearly cherished by me. I do prefer the calendar date to celebrate, but my celebrations are just as valuable when we choose to reschedule when Duane is scheduled to work and goes to the emergency room to save a life, relieve pain, calm the frightened… Only and all through the Prince of Peace, Christ Jesus, is he empowered to do this.
NOTE:
For the child of God this is a constant and embraced revelation. But: for you who hate and ignore God, get it right!
Valentine’s Day is over. On that calendar date when he came home from work one of the first things I said was, “By the way, Happy Valentine’s..” Duane and I have been married since 1979, still are. And this special day of remembering and celebrating romantic love (eros in Koine Greek) was noted by us but not celebrated fully until today: February 27th…
Tonight we will go out specifically to celebrate our love, our marriage, our covenant with God. We give Him, the LORD of all, praises and thanks for the goodness He has given us, knowing it was not good for man to be alone!
A true and romantic love is only blessed and can only prosper as you put God first in your life!
Amen and amen and
Selah!
SCRIPTURAL TRUTHS FOR THIS JOY STORY:
Psalm 85:10-11
Love and faithfulness meet together; righteousness and peace kiss each other. Faithfulness springs forth from the earth, and righteousness looks down from heaven.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
Song of Solomon 1:15
How beautiful you are, my darling! Oh, how beautiful! Your eyes are doves.
Song of Solomon 8:6-7
Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot sweep it away.
If one were to give all the wealth of one’s house for love, it would be utterly scorned.
John 15:12
My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.
Romans 12:10
Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.
1 Corinthians 16:14
Do everything in love.
Growing up in a home without the love for God, an invalid father, heavy financial hardships, and tremendous (sometimes dangerous) discord is always difficult. Add on to that extreme shyness, a feeling of inferiority, and some may think this girl was rejected. But God’s hand was on her and His heart was for her. Today, Ann Marie Turner has performed many great services in Jesus’ name for the love of God and man; and for herself! She has ministered in the male correctional for over ten years. Along with this website, Ann is the author of Joy Stories, Volume One and The Free Incarcerated Man. Writing about the joy of the Lord and the victory that is available for a willing soul is one of Ann’s now greatest joys! Ann’s prayer for you is to overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony. Celebrate the God of the Bible and your personal victories in Christ unceasingly! Revelation 12:11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
