MAYBE YOU SHOULD CHECK YOUR HEART.
To the child of God to do right is right. It is holy, good, and yes, even loving…
The Ten Commandments are still in style. Today, possibly not a lot of Americans could even quote all Ten.. Here they are:
Exodus 20:1-17
And God spoke all these words:
“I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.
“You shall have no other gods before me.
“You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.
“You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.
“Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
“Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.
“You shall not murder.
“You shall not commit adultery.
“You shall not steal.
“You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.
“You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”
I’ve heard them spoken of in a way that makes it sound as if they are not good, not holy. This is wrong. I once heard someone talk about them, saying the first five are positive, the last five are negative. What does that sound like to the average person? But of course it sounds like the last five are bad! Ridiculous! This person did an extremely poor teaching on them. Some people do: even ministers (never forgetting there are false preachers) miss teachings sometimes. Remember: the Bible is your final Word. It is Jesus. Jesus is the Word.
When you love God why would you want to:
Not wanting the holy is the sinner’s style! If you love God, yourself and man, don’t you want to be loved in return? Don’t you want to love the right and hate the wrong? Of course you do! THE LAW IS GOOD IF ONE USES IT LAWFULLY.
BELOVED, HERE ARE SOME SCRIPTURES THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT THE LAW:
Deuteronomy 6:4-9
Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.
1 Timothy 1:9-11
We also know that law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious; for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for adulterers and perverts, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine that conforms to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me
Colossians 2:13-15
When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.
THANK GOD SAUL DIED AND BECAME A NEW CREATION IN CHRIST JESUS!
Romans 7:7-9
What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful? Certainly not! Nevertheless, I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.” But sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, produced in me every kind of coveting. For apart from the law, sin was dead. Once I was alive apart from the law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died.
James 2:10
For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.
Psalm 19:7
The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.
THE PURPOSE OF THE LAW
is to show all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. It was not made for the righteous, but for lawbreakers. Again, we have all broken the law: and those are accountable who able to understand the gospel: babies, little children, mentally handicapped cannot reject the gospel. If the Law is evil, why does it resemble Jesus?
JESUS IS THE FULFILLMENT OF THE LAW
Matthew 7:17-20
“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.
TODAY PURPOSE IN YOUR HEART
that you know you have fallen short, have sinned. Thank God you know you cannot earn your salvation, cannot earn God’s favor or love. His gift is Jesus Christ, the Perfect Sacrifice. And without the shedding of blood there is no release from bondage.
THE LAW IS PERFECT
THE LAW IS PERFECT
THE LAW IS PERFECT
THE LAW IS PERFECT
THE LAW IS PERFECT
THE LAW IS PERFECT
THE LAW IS PERFECT
AND SO IS JESUS!
Growing up in a home without the love for God, an invalid father, heavy financial hardships, and tremendous (sometimes dangerous) discord is always difficult. Add on to that extreme shyness, a feeling of inferiority, and some may think this girl was rejected. But God’s hand was on her and His heart was for her. Today, Ann Marie Turner has performed many great services in Jesus’ name for the love of God and man; and for herself! She has ministered in the male correctional for over ten years. Along with this website, Ann is the author of Joy Stories, Volume One and The Free Incarcerated Man. Writing about the joy of the Lord and the victory that is available for a willing soul is one of Ann’s now greatest joys! Ann’s prayer for you is to overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony. Celebrate the God of the Bible and your personal victories in Christ unceasingly! Revelation 12:11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
