WHAT A GREAT QUESTION FOR THIS EASTER SEASON! DO YOU KNOW HOW TO DIE?
JESUS DID!
HE CHOSE TO DIE FOR THE RIGHTEOUS CAUSE!
Come with me now and see how imperative it is to choose how to die!
The subject of death has never been a favorite subject of sinners, by no means! Most of them do not want to think about death; much less talk about it. Without a doubt, death is a topic that the majority do not want to allow even one fleeting thought to cross their minds, their wills and their emotions: spiritually, of course, – they are the walking dead!
As they consider the thought of physical death as something to be put off – dwelling on the biblical truth of death is repugnant to this group of non-compliant people in this, our widespread community. This truly is a foolish choice for, obviously, death will occur just as the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob unashamedly decrees in many places throughout His Holy Word, the Bible:
Let us now look at two different deathstyle choices; that of the saint and the sinner. I am speaking now of the way each of these two groups think (or don’t think) on physical death.
It is inanely stupid to the thinking man not to tackle the age-old veracity of this issue: an issue that will ultimately have to be addressed – and, my friends, it will be addressed by every person, saint or sinner.
The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”
(Genesis 2:15-17)
Just as people are destined to die once, (Hebrews 9:27 — part of verse 27!)
Sinners don’t love God. They don’t seek Him; they don’t consider Him. They are already spiritually dead and only live to gratify themselves, their flesh:
The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good. (Psalm 14:1)
The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. (Romans 1:18-19)
Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. (1 Corinthians 6:9-11)
Beloved: clearly the LORD God Almighty did not design mankind to spend eternity separated from Him in Hell.
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)
Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign Lord. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live? (Ezekiel 18:23)
God does no wrong! He never apologizes! He does not have to!
It is truly wise to know, believe and act on the character of God: that is, to love Him – this is the only prudent choice.
AND SO IS THE DECISION ON HOW TO DIE!
We must die in Christ! The Church knows this and is prepared for this:
They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death. (Revelation 12:11)
Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints. (Psalm 116:15)
After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
(1 Thessalonians 4:17)
What a difference in a deathstyle!
BELOVED: I plead with you now – all of you – saint or sinner:
I speak to you: any of you, some of you, a lot of you – you – you who are afraid to die. You, who won’t even think about, in a heartbeat, your certain death. Any of you who get so afraid to die that you make a quick, quick, quick exit to flee any wise conversations to make your exit plan from this world – yes, to the next.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)

For Christ did not enter a sanctuary made with human hands that was only a copy of the true one; he entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God’s presence.
