This story is great! It’s true!
For any of you who knows the devil’s voice, join me in triumphing over him and mocking him!
And: for those of you who don’t – learn.
“She looks like a long, skinny rat!”
THAT’S NOT QUITE IT…
What he said was: “She’s ugly! She looks like a long, skinny rat!”
Who’s that talking to me? More importantly, rather: most importantly, how did I respond?
Beloved, this is verbatim what Satan said to me. Now it might have been one of his cronies; because Satan is inferior in every way to his Creator God. He is not omnipresent. I just usually put the blame on him because it is so (damned he will be) fun!
Selah and praise God in all things – not for all things!
Satan or one his own said this to me after Duane and I adopted our latest puppy, Tina, the Terrier mix rescue. My response was classic! I plan classic responses to Satan and his kingdom because I hate them, I loathe them, I despise them! I fight the good fight! So as a daughter of the King (one of many, thankfully) I want God’s will and only His will in my life! And God’s will is for every puppy to be loved, cherished, and adored!
Tina is!
Riley, our black Pug, had died in my arms at a good age. Rocky was left; Duane and I decided we still wanted two dogs at that time. So God orchestrated yet another divine appointment.
I had my heart set on a white, short-furred, female Chihuahua; the kind that have the large round head. Beautiful! We planned a rescue dog. Three cheers for Secondhand Hounds. Personally, I don’t like their name at all: no puppy is secondhand. Although they can’t compare to unborn babies, all of God’s domesticated pets are to be nurtured and treated not only with love, but respect for they are worthy of love! Amen and amen!
Getting back to Tina. I found her! I take a lot of joy in that fact because she is such a daddy’s girl (and mommy’s girl too, I promise) that I love to tell Duane: “I picked her!” We both know she is a gift from God. And being that our son and daughters are grown, I need fur babies! Yes! I do!
After decidedly searching for Chihuahua’s, God sent me to the computer once again. And there I found our next puppy baby, Tina! Like many of you, the minute I saw her I wanted her.
PLEASE NOTE: I saw many puppies like this!
Tina was the one who was available and she was without any hesitation or doubt in my mind, the one God planned for us. In her picture through Secondhand Hounds Duane and I both saw her soul. She was a doll! Beautiful! We both saw, not mischievousness, but having a joyful and energetic demeanor. Most people would refer to her as an imp: but the true definition of that is not good and that definitely is not Tina! Tina is good!
The day we went to visit her (we were not allowed to immediately take her home) I was disappointed by how much black fur she had on her back; or so I thought. I was thinking she’d have a lot more dark grey instead. I didn’t think I’d like that difference. (Silly me!) I also was shocked to see her get up and walk on the dining table! I never saw a dog, big or little, do that! Thankfully, I didn’t let that persuade me to not get her. I knew I could change that behavior.
Another thing was – a man in a wheelchair had looked at her. Thankfully, even if we weren’t going to take her, I was so happy he didn’t because I instantly knew she could easily have gotten her pretty little feet run over by his chair… Tina Ann Turner is very active… and fast!
No. When Duane and I go to look at a puppy we’ve already decided that’s the one we’re going to get. There was no question for us Tina would be ours. Her foster parents called her Princess. She is all that!
AFTER WE HAD TINA for a short time, I heard in my spirit: “She’s ugly! She looks like a long, skinny rat!” Well, I knew who was talking to me! And I knew it would never, ever, be God talking like that…
As I said I just blame the bad on Satan and if it’s one of his cohorts, doesn’t matter. They’re all damned and they’re all defeated:
Revelation 12:11
They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
My response was classic! And Satan hates it! And you do have to talk out loud to the dominion of darkness because unlike God, they can’t read your thoughts!
“No! She’s beautiful!”
You see, Terriers and Pugs are so different. Pugs are like little fireplugs (that’s what I say.) But actually, their bodies are like fire hydrants. They are short and stout. Beautiful in their own ways. But Tina, is much longer and sleeker. It was an adjustment to trying to pick her up! I’d call me my little taco as I picked her up in her favorite doggie bed, along with her blanket; folding the bed in half with Tina inside! Cute! And fun! Now’s she’s grown so much, I can’t fold the bed anymore – so it’s open flat… I now call her my little tostada! Cute!
Fur babies bring so much fun, joy, and love into my life! Always have…
Because of the differences of their bodies, Satan tried to find an opening to hurt me! He can’t! (Psalm 91.) Sure, I had to adjust on how to pick Tina up, but when it comes to looks, Tina is the cat’s pajamas!
But Satan doesn’t give up… As of this date, after having Tina nearly three years, recently he’s telling me: “She’s losing weight! She’s got a blockage! She’s not eating enough!!!!”
You know what I tell him? Of course you do!
“No!”
THIS LESSON: as always, in every lesson – anything evil is from Satan and his lot. All of God’s promises are “Yes!” and “Amen! in Christ Jesus. And: God even has a plan for Tina and every fur baby!

P.S. Animals go to Heaven! However, animals who kill a man are somehow held accountable.
Genesis 9:5
And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each human being, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of another human being.

I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war
Growing up in a home without the love for God, an invalid father, heavy financial hardships, and tremendous (sometimes dangerous) discord is always difficult. Add on to that extreme shyness, a feeling of inferiority, and some may think this girl was rejected. But God’s hand was on her and His heart was for her. Today, Ann Marie Turner has performed many great services in Jesus’ name for the love of God and man; and for herself! She has ministered in the male correctional for over ten years. Along with this website, Ann is the author of Joy Stories, Volume One and The Free Incarcerated Man. Writing about the joy of the Lord and the victory that is available for a willing soul is one of Ann’s now greatest joys! Ann’s prayer for you is to overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony. Celebrate the God of the Bible and your personal victories in Christ unceasingly! Revelation 12:11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
