ARE YOU?
DOES THIS SOUND STRANGE TO YOU?
Perhaps you need to take a moment to think about sorrow…
God, beloved and crabbies, does grieve. Did you know that? It’s good to know that first of all. Next, always remember that God, Himself gave us our emotions in order to fight the good fight…
Selah.
We children of God (Christians and Torah Jewish people only) are to fight the good fight. This would never include claiming
The good fight includes the right to:
NOTE: this is what is available to children of God. The reason some don’t reflect the victories in every area of life is unbelief.
Selah.
Isaiah 26:3
You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.
1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
James 1:17
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.
Be thankful, therefore, when you heart is moved to sorrow when you see an animal in bad straits… They suffer from the Fall of Adam too. Or when you see an ambulance rushing to save someone you don’t even know. Thank God you care and you pray not only for the victim, but for the safety of the drivers as well. And when you see an old man searching his pockets for money and it is apparent he is struggling to make ends meet, be thankful this hurts your heart! Especially so if you have none at that time to give him.
When you turn on the television and you have to turn it off… be thankful you do not have a heart of stone.
Selah.
And for the ultra-sensitive: be ever grateful to God that any fictional shows affect your joy: such as the abduction and murder of a teenage girl. Why? Because you know very well this really happens in real life.
Yes be thankful you grieve. Be thankful that you care for strangers, whether due to their poverty, lack of money, safety, or godlessness. This is God’s heart. This is God’s desire: for you to care about humanity. Love as closely as you can as He does… Don’t close your eyes, your heart, your soul, thinking: “Why should I care? I don’t know him!”
Don’t grieve our God who is so good! And thank Him for your godly sorrow…
Selah.
Ephesians 4:26-32
“In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold. Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need. Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
As you grieve and are thankful that you deeply mourn because sorrows cover the Earth, primarily never forget that God is good. His answers are clear and is solution is perfect. Jesus is the answer!
Hebrews 12:1-3
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
1 Peter 3:13-22
Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.” But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. For it is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit. After being made alive, he went and made proclamation to the imprisoned spirits—to those who were disobedient long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water, and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at God’s right hand—with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him.
Growing up in a home without the love for God, an invalid father, heavy financial hardships, and tremendous (sometimes dangerous) discord is always difficult. Add on to that extreme shyness, a feeling of inferiority, and some may think this girl was rejected. But God’s hand was on her and His heart was for her. Today, Ann Marie Turner has performed many great services in Jesus’ name for the love of God and man; and for herself! She has ministered in the male correctional for over ten years. Along with this website, Ann is the author of Joy Stories, Volume One and The Free Incarcerated Man. Writing about the joy of the Lord and the victory that is available for a willing soul is one of Ann’s now greatest joys! Ann’s prayer for you is to overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony. Celebrate the God of the Bible and your personal victories in Christ unceasingly! Revelation 12:11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
