ONCE UPON A TIME, when I wasn’t thinking, really thinking, I used to believe that maybe this saying was true: “It’s just a piece of paper.”
Here I was, single, in my teens and twenties, with absolutely no formal training in the Bible and no church attendance in sight. Whose fault? Mine.

PLEASE NOTE: You are reading from an author who is a Christian, taking total responsibility for my own errors and deliberate sins back then and now. I’d like to remind you to read again (or for the first time) my article: My Claim. Just look for it in the Search For space on the upper right side of this site. It is imperative that everything you believe agrees with God! Don’t play Christian; be a professional Christian!
And now on to more and joyous times for me – and hopefully for you – unless you’re already there! (This is one of my greatest prayers for all able and willing: attain peace and victory through the only Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!)

SO: here we go! What is a covenant dress?
Actually, I’m going to first start out with that infamous (yes, infamous!) statement: “It’s just a piece of paper.” Oh really?! Oh, no! Marriage is from God as all good things are. Unfortunately, although the Creator did create all things and called them good – some that have a voice consciously chose not to stay that way, stay good.
Selah.
I also now would recommend to you also, to ready my article regarding my own wedding entitled, IF I HAD TO DO MY WEDDING OVER AGAIN… because I am Christian, not hypocritical…
God, beloved, loves us. And He is ever holy, ever perfect, ever omniscient, ever omnipotent, ever omnipresent. He is God and there is no other. So He created male and female and instituted the institution of marriage; knowing some would pervert this sacred ceremony per Satan’s wishes.
I have heard of all kinds of wedding ceremonies; and let me tell you, even when I was a sinner, (someone who refuses to submit to God and goes his own way) even I was disgusted with some of the ceremonies people would participate in.
And back in 1979 when I was a hypocrite, a sinner, someone who refused to take time to love God (I did know He was God and there is no other) I had to get married in church – God had to be there! Fool that I was, I didn’t contemplate for a New York hot second (I love this phrase!) that God is I AM: He is everywhere!
Selah.
THIS IS JUNE IN MINNESOTA
just the beginning, June 2nd, and because of the seasons here, June is one of the most celebrated months for weddings.
Please stop and think better than I used to regarding marriage. God created this sacred ceremony and it is supposed to be until death (Divorce is not sin because God allowed Moses to give people a certificate of divorce. Seek out the biblical truth of this.)
TOO MANY FAKE MARRIAGES today; too many divorces too! Do you know that I am sixty-six and when I was in grade school in the 60’s, I knew one friend – one! – whose parents divorced. And let me tell you: “It was weird!”
TO THE ENGAGED:
When you excitedly choose your wedding dress and tux; make them both covenant dress – dressed for God’s glory and your blessings!
My prayer for marriages today is this:
“I pray that people marry as those who please my Father. That they have Him as the head of their household and submit to Him first and foremost, always. I pray that they continue to work out their salvation with fear and trembling.
I pray that as Christ is the head of the Church, God is the head of the marriages.
Dear Father,
I know You have given us the answers for all pains, trials, temptations: and, if we seek You will direct us into a joyful marriage unto death (or rapture!)
I pray this in Jesus’ name.
Amen.
Dearly Beloved, God’s Word is true!
SCRIPTURES FOR THIS JOY STORY:
1 Corinthians 2:12-16
What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words. The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments, for, “Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
2 Timothy 1:7
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
Philippians 2:12-13
Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.
1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
Growing up in a home without the love for God, an invalid father, heavy financial hardships, and tremendous (sometimes dangerous) discord is always difficult. Add on to that extreme shyness, a feeling of inferiority, and some may think this girl was rejected. But God’s hand was on her and His heart was for her. Today, Ann Marie Turner has performed many great services in Jesus’ name for the love of God and man; and for herself! She has ministered in the male correctional for over ten years. Along with this website, Ann is the author of Joy Stories, Volume One and The Free Incarcerated Man. Writing about the joy of the Lord and the victory that is available for a willing soul is one of Ann’s now greatest joys! Ann’s prayer for you is to overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony. Celebrate the God of the Bible and your personal victories in Christ unceasingly! Revelation 12:11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
