TODAY IS JULY 19th
and I have a special report!
Every wise person who loves God loves animals. Can’t be any other way.
If you’ve read anything about my fur babies at present, Pewter – my Russian Blue kitty – and Tina – my Terrier mix – you have an idea of how beautiful and precious they both are to God, Duane, and me!
Selah.
Well, this morning Tina’s day started off ruff! I mean rough!
The first time Duane was on his way out the door with her I saw trouble! You can see trouble coming!
In this case it was Yogi… the Dachshund next door!!
As Duane and Tina went to exit the house I called to him very nearby: “Careful! Careful! Careful!”
The neighbor and his dog, Yogi, were right there! The puppy paths were about to cross!
Tina pitched a fit! And my wonderful, wise husband immediately sat down on the stoop and talked to her, held her, and tried (couldn’t fully!) comforting our little girl. Tina was actually more aggressive than Yogi: his puppy daddy just kept walking to take Yogi away from a very bad situation. I need to reaffirm: the first time Tina saw and heard Yogi (and Tina lived here first – which does matter to her) Yogi was being hostile. Tina has never forgotten that! She’s like me: she will get the last word.
This situation was safe because both doggie daddies had control of their pups. Thank God! I truly believe they would have gone violently after the other.
But what made this war so very comical:
the neighbor across the street also has a little dog. He was standing outside in his yard holding him in his arms and thinking, should I take Cosmo now? – maybe I should just wait!
His little Boston Terrier is also very barky…
He went back inside.
DOG WARS can be very serious and very dangerous.
I caution all of you who are arrogant and/or selfish: be nice!
Think of the safety of not just yourself and your dog – but love your neighbor as yourself:
Matthew 22:35-40
One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
Romans 12:18
If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
Growing up in a home without the love for God, an invalid father, heavy financial hardships, and tremendous (sometimes dangerous) discord is always difficult. Add on to that extreme shyness, a feeling of inferiority, and some may think this girl was rejected. But God’s hand was on her and His heart was for her. Today, Ann Marie Turner has performed many great services in Jesus’ name for the love of God and man; and for herself! She has ministered in the male correctional for over ten years. Along with this website, Ann is the author of Joy Stories, Volume One and The Free Incarcerated Man. Writing about the joy of the Lord and the victory that is available for a willing soul is one of Ann’s now greatest joys! Ann’s prayer for you is to overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony. Celebrate the God of the Bible and your personal victories in Christ unceasingly! Revelation 12:11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
