NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS GOD’S PEOPLE make begin with a good idea, a sincere heart and the plan to meet their goal. Today is almost the last day of January and as January is pretty much gone, so too are many of the New Year’s resolutions a thing of the past of many who seemingly were so very determined to fulfill them.
Selah
All people (including sinners) know they have ‘missed it’ whether it be a New Year’s resolution of taking off fifty pounds, reading up on any given topic in order to become more proficient, becoming a kinder, more patient person – or any other resolution, purposed with good intention. Normally there is something (or things) every individual wants to be different in their life. Don’t worry my friends, missing it is not the failure! Attempting and failing to change a bad habit, or a non-beneficial habit, is not going to separate your relationship as a child of God. Failure is giving up – permanently on any given thing: but even failures may not necessarily be sin.
Is there anyone out there who absolutely does not want to change, who is, without challenge, perfect in everyway and to whom the rest of us can look up to and strive to emulate? Of course – I am asking a silly, fun question (although those who choose to blind themselves to God’s beauty may somewhat ponder this question.) Those of us who are in Christ, we Christians, know full well God is our very great reward worthy of complete adoration and emulation. Only He is immutable!
So as we have already started a new American New Year – let’s make this resolution and keep it as Jesus Christ, Himself, tells us to:
‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” (Matthew 22:37-40)
When a person seriously studies God, without a doubt, without a lie, that person will be content and will know how to live and enjoy life to the fullest – now and throughout all eternity.
BUT THE PURPOSE OF MY writing today is to review, renew to you in your mind just what a great God we serve and how very worthy He is to be praised; and how ridiculous it is not to trust Him 100%!
In contrast to a human resolution, that good idea brought out of a sincere heart to make a lifestyle change for the better, God makes no changes nor apologizes to anyone for His lifestyle! He never has to. He never would. For He, and He alone, is holy, holy, holy. Hear the word of the LORD:
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.” (Isaiah 6:3)
“‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty,’ who was, and is, and is to come.” (Revelation 4:8)
LET’S FOCUS ON HIS BEAUTY.
Beloved: God never changes. He never sins, nor has He even a thought of misdeed! He has created everything for His own good pleasure and for His pleasure were they created. No person can come up against Him and win a challenging accusation against His holiness. The LORD God Almighty does and cannot do or be — wrong. His thoughts are pure holiness, as well as His actions. My God and yours loves righteousness and hates wickedness. This is beauty.
In this day and age we are living in we see two kingdoms warring against each other perhaps more violently than in times past: for we are soon coming to the cherished arrival of our Blessed Hope – the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. My kingdom has won – and I am right; for I serve and submit to the King of kings and the LORD of lords… I am in the kingdom of God. I have peace and joy unspeakable. I am more than able to love the good and hate the evil. I, in my very body, soul and spirit, like God – my Father -do not want anyone to perish in Hell. I do not seek revenge. I claim God is God and He is worthy of all my trust. His will is my will – I submit. My daily prayer (one of them) is what Jesus taught me to pray:
“‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’ (Matthew 6:9-13)
No one, in comparison, touches the resolution of Christ. He is God. I am not. You are not. With Him I can do all things He has put in me. So can you! I strive to do so and I, with great love for you, encourage you all to love Him and honor Him as the God of all – who does not change, nor does He need to:
SCRIPTURAL TRUTHS FROM THIS “JOY STORY”:
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:8-9)
God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. (Genesis 1:31)
“Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.” (Hebrews 1:8-9)

Growing up in a home without the love for God, an invalid father, heavy financial hardships, and tremendous (sometimes dangerous) discord is always difficult. Add on to that extreme shyness, a feeling of inferiority, and some may think this girl was rejected. But God’s hand was on her and His heart was for her. Today, Ann Marie Turner has performed many great services in Jesus’ name for the love of God and man; and for herself! She has ministered in the male correctional for over ten years. Along with this website, Ann is the author of Joy Stories, Volume One and The Free Incarcerated Man. Writing about the joy of the Lord and the victory that is available for a willing soul is one of Ann’s now greatest joys! Ann’s prayer for you is to overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony. Celebrate the God of the Bible and your personal victories in Christ unceasingly! Revelation 12:11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
