It truly is up to you…
I have written this story in March, the first part of March. Mothers are on my mind and there all kinds of us…
MOTHER’S DAY MIGHT BE DIFFICULT
for some. I know some of them have been for me; I have personally had thirty-seven of them so far. On the other hand, it has given me a glimmer of what God’s love is for all of us (the perfect Father).
I like that word glimmer. When I think of glimmer my mind’s picture brings forth glitter, brilliance, beauty. Some of the words to truly define God’s love. However, some other topics regarding this beautiful and enlightening word also include faintly shine, subdued or unsteady, a light that is not always there, not truly bright. Glimmer could be thought of as a dim awareness.
Indeed, we do only know the Father in part. Heaven will reveal so much more to us: you had better look forward to going and plan your escape route from this now-broken planet… But when I think about the glimmer of hope God gave me, the more I’ve studied Him over the years and the more I’ve cherished Him, I only see more and more of His uncompromising stance of holiness.
GOD IS GOOD! He is good all the time! Why? Because He is forever holy, holy, holy.
The reason I’m writing about mothers is because of my own. I don’t know when or how she died… If you remember in another writing I told you I had a horrible childhood: that is, if I were to sum it up in one word. It was. God asked me that. “If you had to sum up my childhood in one word what would it be?” “Horrible.” I answered. I’ve hesitated about writing anything about Mother’s Day because of my mom… Beloved, my greatest desire is my will being only God’s will. Wanting only what He wants is my life.
Matthew 22:35-40
One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
I’ve never wanted to give you details about my relationships with my biological family. I may never. My sins are forgiven and forgotten by the Father, my Father, (should be yours too; you have to choose.) And, being in Christ and wanting only God’s will; I want my biological family in Heaven, healed, whole, forgiven and deeply loved by God and all!
Selah.
Because of my life, I understand a lot of horrors other people have gone through. I never give any woman who’s been abused in any way to use that as an excuse to hate. God doesn’t. One of the things I love about me, about what I do, how I react, is the fact that I never have, never will, blame any of my sins on someone’s treatment of me. I choose. And I choose holiness… a rare thing.
Beloved, it hurts to tell you: “I don’t know where my mother went when she died.” I should. We should have been close, we should have been loving, forgiving. We should have been holy. You can’t make anyone love you. God refuses to. You can’t make anyone listen; and you can’t make anyone change.
I am most blessed in not telling you the sins that people have put on me. Why? Again: as I said, my greatest desire is my will being only God’s will. Wanting only what He wants is my life.
My Father wants my mother in Heaven. Is she there? Again, I don’t know. But I am at peace because God invited her! Never talk to the dead, that is horribly wrong. Instead, ask God to say what you’d like to your loved ones who has passed.
Because God is good, because God is perfect love, I trust Him. If my mother is not going to live with me in Heaven, I am blessed to say: “It is not God’s fault.” It’s not mine.
I take great comfort and joy to have the peace that surpasses all understanding: because just like me and the entire population of eternity, every mother has been invited to the Lord’s Table! And as His children will sup with Him, being eternally in His presence, it is well with my soul to know that my mother, your mothers, and all mothers have been loved from the beginning, sought after and wanted by their Creator. They should be with Him!

SCRIPTURAL TRUTHS FOR THIS MOTHER’S DAY STORY:
Matthew 22:1-14
Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son. He sent his servants to those who had been invited to the banquet to tell them to come, but they refused to come. “Then he sent some more servants and said, ‘Tell those who have been invited that I have prepared my dinner: My oxen and fattened cattle have been butchered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.’ “But they paid no attention and went off—one to his field, another to his business. The rest seized his servants, mistreated them and killed them. The king was enraged. He sent his army and destroyed those murderers and burned their city. “Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come. So go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.’ So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, the bad as well as the good, and the wedding hall was filled with guests. “But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes. He asked, ‘How did you get in here without wedding clothes, friend?’ The man was speechless.
“Then the king told the attendants, ‘Tie him hand and foot, and throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ “For many are invited, but few are chosen.”
Exodus 20:12
“Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.
Luke 1:46-50
And Mary said: “My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things for me—holy is his name. His mercy extends to those who fear him, from generation to generation.
John 19:25-27
Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to her, “Woman, here is your son,” and to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.
Mark 13:12-13
“Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death. Everyone will hate you because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.
2 TIMOTHY 3:1-5
But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.
Matthew 7:13-14
“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
Growing up in a home without the love for God, an invalid father, heavy financial hardships, and tremendous (sometimes dangerous) discord is always difficult. Add on to that extreme shyness, a feeling of inferiority, and some may think this girl was rejected. But God’s hand was on her and His heart was for her. Today, Ann Marie Turner has performed many great services in Jesus’ name for the love of God and man; and for herself! She has ministered in the male correctional for over ten years. Along with this website, Ann is the author of Joy Stories, Volume One and The Free Incarcerated Man. Writing about the joy of the Lord and the victory that is available for a willing soul is one of Ann’s now greatest joys!
