TODAY, FEBRUARY 16, YOU ARE SIXTEEN! You probably know this! (SMILE!) In honor of you, Chanelle, this “JOY STORY’ is dedicated…

Before I get to the main point of my story, TWINZZ, I first have the pleasure of telling you something about Chanelle. She is my firstborn granddaughter – and loves me very much, as I do her, of course.

Chanelle has some of the most amazing blue eyes: those she gets from her mother. Truly, they are the type of blue eyes you don’t see often. They radiate beauty, it’s hard to explain. Because of her unique eyes and many other physical beauty traits I have been diligently teaching her not to be vain; but to embrace her physical beauty with the truth of God’s Word. Therefore, here on some valued truths about her eyes and those who look upon the Lord:

 

WE ARE RADIANT:
Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.
Psalm 34:5

 

WE REFUSE TO BE UGLY:
I will not look with approval on anything that is vile. I hate what faithless people do; I will have no part in it.
Psalm 101:3

 

GOD SEES OUR NECESSARY BEAUTY… OUR GOOD HEARTS:
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
1 Samuel 16:7

 

JESUS CHRIST OPENED OUR EYES TO HEALING:
Once more Jesus put his hands on the man’s eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly.
Mark 8:25

 

OUR EYES DISPLAY OUR HEALTHY GLOW:
“The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
Matthew 6:22-23

 

OUR HOPE IS IN GOD’S UNFAILING LOVE:
But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love, to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.
Psalm 33:18-19

 

I take great pleasure in telling you that when Chanelle was little a lot of people thought she looked quite a bit like me. I didn’t see it…. at first. The first time I really did believe you could see something of me in Chanelle was at a Pizza Hut when she was little little. She was big enough to sit in a high chair. She began crying like a baby (she was) because she couldn’t get her way about – something. And I just had to laugh; I remember saying exactly this: “I hate to say this, but she does look like me!” It struck me so funny. I don’t mean at all that I hate to say she looks like me, I mean I hated to say she looks like me when she was being naughty! God does have a sense of humor! Seriously, she was innocent of anything wrong that time. And absolutely, like me, like you, Chanelle needs Jesus as her Lord and Savior. He is…

 

And now, she’s a woman; a beautiful young woman! You just have to know her father is guarding her with a jealous love. That’s not wrong at all! God is jealous for His children, no one will snatch them out of His hand! And as the Apostle Paul guards his sheep, a godly man guards his daughters:

 

I hope you will put up with me in a little foolishness. Yes, please put up with me!  I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him. But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.
2 Corinthians 11:1-3

 

The Apostle Paul and godly fathers and mothers train up their children in the Lord. This is Chanelle’s heritage; and this is where the word, TWINZZ, comes into play.

 

One of those favorite kind of days for me is when I see all my family together. One particular day, I remember and never will forget, Chanelle sitting in the living room right by her mom. Chanelle and I both can’t remember what was going on with her and her mom, but she laughingly called out: “Twinzz!” I thought that was so very cute – always will! They were doing something cute together, exactly the same and Chanelle, being playful, loaded with love and joy, made a point to mark this moment.

 

Chanelle marked that precious moment forever in may heart and TWINZZ became a fascinating and endearing word to me.

 

TWINZZ, as you can imagine is a word which means you and someone else are doing the exact same thing at the exact same time. So I keep this word in my heart and I remember that fun and beautiful moment when Chanelle (yes, a teenager) was in sync with her mom, another beautiful lady! Devil be damned (he will) my family loves each other. Yes we may sin, but we repent and strive not to. The proof is in the pudding when the blood is applied in your family. Like Joshua says, so say I:

 

“Now fear the Lord and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”
Joshua 24:14-15

 

If you want a forever family who loves and laughs – live this way.

satan does come indeed to slaughter, steal and destroy – but we who love the True and Living God have been delivered from his lies and out of his dominion!

 

MORE ABOUT TWINZZ:

So, because this is SO FUN for me, I told my husband we should both wear our red flannel shirts the same day. We did. And later, deciding, to share this ‘JOY STORY” idea with Chanelle, to get her permission (I already had her parents’) to publish this story, we wore our TWINZZ shirts to their home on Super Bowl Sunday, showing Chanelle – Duane and I are TWINZZ! We also wore the same colour of jeans – khaki, which went well with our red flannel shirts.

And this is the idea, the main point, I want to display to my beloved young, adult granddaughter, her friends and everyone else.

As I was standing in the kitchen of my home with Duane, I looked at our frig. We have a picture of our pastors from Christmas hung on it. Pastor Mac was wearing a red flannel shirt and instantly TWINZZ again flashed in my mind. Duane and I were wearing our TWINZZ shirts and pants, Pastor Mac matched us closely with his shirt: and being the man of God he is, he is one of my heroes, a role model.

 

AND NOT ONLY THAT: but, Beloved, we are to be TWINZZ with Jesus Christ. Now, don’t you dare get me wrong…  Jesus is fully God / fully man. I am not God and neither are you. God is God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit – Trinity: one God (yes one) in Three Persons. And those of us who love Him are complete in Christ.

 

TWINZZ: we are to follow Christ. Again, as the great Apostle Paul says:

 

Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.
1 Corinthians 11:1

 

Herewith let me give you seven Scriptures (the perfect number) on how to follow Jesus Christ, Son of Man, Son of God, coming King, great I AM:

 

Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
Nehemiah 8:10

 

Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
John 14:12-13

 

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God—even as I try to please everyone in every way. For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved.
1 Corinthians 10:31-33

 

But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.  And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
2 Corinthians 3:16-18

 

In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus
Philippians 2:5

 

Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.
1 John 2:6

 

You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.”
Hebrews 1:9

 

As we live to love, it has to be in God, not the god of this age. Not the god that came down – because he was cast out of Heaven – to slaughter, steal and destroy. We live to love by the Author of love: God Almighty! Everything He created was for His good pleasure and we who seek love, wisdom, truth and beauty want to be forever TWINZZ with Christ!
