Dearest husbands,
Here is a great help for you! Don’t tell your wives…
Duane and I have been married forty-one years (forty-two this September.) And yet, there are still tricks we find out about each other.
You know you do what Duane does too: you stick your tongue out when your wife is not looking (—right back at you hubby!) Or you do that famous head bobble like the character of Carl Winslow that I absolutely love and adore every time!
Today Duane thought he got one over one me! And he did (for less than five minutes, maybe two.) We were playfully talking about not telling Tina (our Terrier) that she is going on a walk. I don’t, absolutely don’t, want her told while she’s on the bed. She’s super-energetic and lives for walks, tummy rubs, all-over caressing, ‘coffee’ (that would be doggie treats), us, her kitty sister Pewter, warm naps and beds and food: and in about that order. So because she’s so precious and loved I am overly, overly protective of her (and not ashamed) on the bed. She could get hurt.
When Duane and I were having this highly necessary safety discussion he also was putting on a sweatshirt. And having the mind of Christ, shortly after he got his head through, I just knew he had been sticking his tongue out while dressing! Busted!
MY POINT: don’t be afraid to laugh, make fun of and mock your wife! She’ll really love it like I do!
At least, she should!
Growing up in a home without the love for God, an invalid father, heavy financial hardships, and tremendous (sometimes dangerous) discord is always difficult. Add on to that extreme shyness, a feeling of inferiority, and some may think this girl was rejected. But God’s hand was on her and His heart was for her. Today, Ann Marie Turner has performed many great services in Jesus’ name for the love of God and man; and for herself! She has ministered in the male correctional for over ten years. Along with this website, Ann is the author of Joy Stories, Volume One and The Free Incarcerated Man. Writing about the joy of the Lord and the victory that is available for a willing soul is one of Ann’s now greatest joys! Ann’s prayer for you is to overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony. Celebrate the God of the Bible and your personal victories in Christ unceasingly! Revelation 12:11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
