FIRST OF ALL, IS THERE SUCH A THING – A GOOD CRY?
Yes, of course. We women know.
A good cry is a joyous cry, a happy and content cry about something good. And something good is holy…
Selah.
Important events that God wants us to participate in has the power, the God-given desire, to cry happy tears! I do it often, very often. Some remarkable examples are: a marriage, a newborn baby (and many of the blessings a child brings you after her birth), a life celebrated because her time on Earth is done we cry with gratitude and worship that she righteously chose Christ and joined the Father in her eternity…
Tears, beloved, can and should be a beautiful thing. Tears of joy can be from those who are overwhelmed at the greatness and majesty of God as I am. Appreciation for who He is, what He has done and will do, may easily bring tears of gratitude for the repentant man for the God of all who cannot lie…
Selah.
Personally, I have had tears of empathy for incarcerated men. (Please read my book: The Free Incarcerated Man.) Though I have never been in prison, never been in jail, never been at a court hearing, never had a speeding ticket – like incarcerated men, I have earned my way to Hell for the wages of sin is death.
But I didn’t stop there. I have accepted the free gift of Jesus’ body and blood which has freed me from Hell, a subject that I love to warn all about. Therefore, I have chosen to make all my tears, tears of joy.
My tears for these men were and are tears of joy because I know what the Lord has done for them! I know what they should or have received from Jesus Christ: Him as their only Lord and Savior. They are invited to receive forgiveness, healing, wholeness, victory and dominion! Thanks be to God alone!
Selah.
Not one man would come to a prison Bible study if he either wasn’t seeking a better life or celebrating his new life in Christ. The Bible calls we Christians new creations. If there were no change through redemption, if one was an apostate, an incarcerated man would never seek learning more about Jesus, the Living Word, and the Bible… The tears I’ve shed for these men are always tears of joy for their value! Even the sinner who comes to a Bible study obviously is not an apostate.
A GOOD CRY MAY BE DEFINED this way:
tears of worship in thankful joy and peace because of the finished work of Christ Jesus. He said it: “It is finished.”
Surrender to God today and give your life to Him to mold, to perfect. If you’re already there, remain in Him and don’t stray. Study Him and share Him…
Then you will love righteousness and hate wickedness.
Plan on making all of your tears, tears of joy – a good cry!
Hebrews 1:9
You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.”
Please see the Scriptures below to assure yourself you love God and are headed to Heaven.
SCRIPTURES REGARDING THIS JOY STORY:
Philippians 1:21
For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
Romans 6:20-23
When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 10:9-13
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Ephesians 2:1-10
As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Galatians 6:14-15
May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which[a] the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything; what counts is the new creation.

HAVE A GOOD CRY TODAY!
Growing up in a home without the love for God, an invalid father, heavy financial hardships, and tremendous (sometimes dangerous) discord is always difficult. Add on to that extreme shyness, a feeling of inferiority, and some may think this girl was rejected. But God’s hand was on her and His heart was for her. Today, Ann Marie Turner has performed many great services in Jesus’ name for the love of God and man; and for herself! She has ministered in the male correctional for over ten years. Along with this website, Ann is the author of Joy Stories, Volume One and The Free Incarcerated Man. Writing about the joy of the Lord and the victory that is available for a willing soul is one of Ann’s now greatest joys! Ann’s prayer for you is to overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony. Celebrate the God of the Bible and your personal victories in Christ unceasingly! Revelation 12:11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
