AND BOYS need love, protection and encouragement. These are just a few things to mention; but they also need complete strangers to be kind to them. They need to be taught that people are good, right along with the truthful and sad counsel that some people are sheer evil and need to be kept away permanently…
Selah.
Praise God it will not always be this way. In Heaven there will be no perverts, no kidnappers, no rapists. But for now we must fight the good fight and teach our tender babies the same.
Recently I was at a store waiting in line with my husband and I could hear the sweet Daddy behind me asking his young daughter of about six how many umbrellas there were. She had pointed them out to him and how they were hanging… I was immediately impressed with this man taking an opportunity to teach his child. That, my friends, is wise!
I decided to share some love with her and I turned around, asking her what she was buying. I went further and told her I loved her colorful tights! Girls love this! They love to be noticed how pretty and precious they are. Then to share more conversation, I showed her what I was buying, a kitchen towel with beautiful owls on it.
Beloved, this short and special give and take was a special moment for us both. Strangers are not all strange. Perhaps her Daddy is a man of God and she will be taught wisdom. During this 2021 shut down where governors are not letting us live as Christ proclaims we have a right to – no physical separations, no ignoring Psalm 91 and a myriad of other Christian rights – we need to be focused on another truth: God loves us and wants us to share Him!
I pray for those ‘leaders’ who ignore God, of course…
I have no doubt that giving this little girl some unasked for attention blessed her and her Daddy! I know it did me!

Growing up in a home without the love for God, an invalid father, heavy financial hardships, and tremendous (sometimes dangerous) discord is always difficult. Add on to that extreme shyness, a feeling of inferiority, and some may think this girl was rejected. But God’s hand was on her and His heart was for her. Today, Ann Marie Turner has performed many great services in Jesus’ name for the love of God and man; and for herself! She has ministered in the male correctional for over ten years. Along with this website, Ann is the author of Joy Stories, Volume One and The Free Incarcerated Man. Writing about the joy of the Lord and the victory that is available for a willing soul is one of Ann’s now greatest joys! Ann’s prayer for you is to overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony. Celebrate the God of the Bible and your personal victories in Christ unceasingly! Revelation 12:11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
