I LOVE THE MUTE BUTTON.
I remember when I first experienced its use. I was at my Uncle Ray’s. As I saw its function and I was thrilled! I doubt anybody enjoys getting up and muting commercials because most of them (I do believe) we don’t want to listen to anyway. There truly are few and far between of them that I unmute between those other, annoying commercials I love to mute!
I’ve thought about this often. I am a thinking girl and I love to examine and reason about the issues of life. Herewith is the good reason:
Proverbs 4:20-27
My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body. Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Keep your mouth free of perversity; keep corrupt talk far from your lips. Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.
Pastor John Hagee (again, I had to check how to spell his name; I love to give him all my respect and love!) is one man I totally admire. He is so great about correcting liars, false Christians, and true Christians who truly need correction! Like me, Pastor Hagee, frequently talks about the horrors of Hell and readily admits (like Jesus!) not all who say they are in Christ are in Christ!
Selah.
Matthew 7:15-29
“Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law.
WARNING! AGAIN:
Matthew 7:21
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
So: what does this have to do with me years ago being at Uncle Ray’s and learning about the mute button? Isn’t it obvious? Should be! Pastor Hagee tells me he is on Earth to do the will of his Father and won’t live like the world! Again: me too!
The mute button, my friends (and enemies) silences what you don’t want to hear…
Selah.
And what don’t you want to hear? Again, isn’t it obvious? Even sinners (the ungodly) want relief from sin; just not theirs (perhaps)! Godly people want perfection in their lives:
AND THIS IS IT: JESUS CHRIST!
Colossians 1:15-23
The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation—if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.
Jesus is who everyone needs! And everyone who wants no problems needs Him!
NOTE: Here on Earth we will always face challenges; but we have the answer to them all.
Revelation 12:11
They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
THE MUTE BUTTON on your devices mutes whatever you don’t want to hear at your will. It’s great! One of the best inventions I’ve ever seen in my sixty-six years of life!
AND IN YOUR OWN CHOICES
you can mute: your own bad thoughts, other people, pornography, graphic news reports, relatives (yay!) and any and every other thing you don’t want attacking your body, soul and spirit!
Selah!
Like salvation, it is your choice and your choice alone!
SCRIPTURAL TRUTHS FOR THIS JOY STORY:
NOTE:
Separate yourself from the world: that would be from sinners, that would be from people who hate God; from people who ignore God; from those who worship a false god (Israel worships the One and True God: the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. They are the Church’s brethren!)
Romans 12:1-2
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
2 Timothy 3:1-5
But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.
AND IN HONOR OF PASTOR JOHN HAGEE AND HIS PREACHING
because Pastor John and I know – we are here:
2 Timothy 4:2-4
Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.
Growing up in a home without the love for God, an invalid father, heavy financial hardships, and tremendous (sometimes dangerous) discord is always difficult. Add on to that extreme shyness, a feeling of inferiority, and some may think this girl was rejected. But God’s hand was on her and His heart was for her. Today, Ann Marie Turner has performed many great services in Jesus’ name for the love of God and man; and for herself! She has ministered in the male correctional for over ten years. Along with this website, Ann is the author of Joy Stories, Volume One and The Free Incarcerated Man. Writing about the joy of the Lord and the victory that is available for a willing soul is one of Ann’s now greatest joys! Ann’s prayer for you is to overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony. Celebrate the God of the Bible and your personal victories in Christ unceasingly! Revelation 12:11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
